This year I teach ESL 1 and 3 students. Many of the ESL 1 students are from developing countries and are refugees. Some of these student have never even seen a computer and my class's limited access to computers has made it a real struggle to teach my dream class, "ESL Through Technology" class. This project would all me to teach these ESL 1 students how to use a computer and give them the 21st century skills they need like typing email, creating presentations, ESL learning games and searching the web. It would allow my advanced learned to be become more proficient and better prepare them for the next step, college. It has been my goal for the past two years to ensure that all of my ESL students have access and are proficient when using technology. Sadly, I have had many barriers and hurdles to cross. Because I am in an urban school and the budget has been cut each year, I continue to have had little access to computers. This project would completely change my students' lives!
