Many of the students in my class are reading below level. They are using an online program to improve their reading level. To make the most of this program, they need headphones. Unfortunately, in a heavy 5th grade book bag, headphones often get lost or broken and are not easily replaced. My students are excited about the success they have been seeing this year with this program and many have improved more than 50 points in their growth. They are working hard every day to increase their reading success and to be able to use other online reading programs to increase their knowledge of science, math, and social studies to prepare them for middle school and beyond.
