We need 71 copies of The Giver . By having these books available to our students they will have successfully read a novel, this is something some of my students have yet to accomplish. Reading a novel in class is one of the most memorable parts of school. It creates dialogue and connections with the text. There are two ideas that build reading levels and comprehension. Reading together establishes long lasting relationships with students and books. Reading is difficult for some students, but with the support of classmates and the teacher, we will be able to dive into the world of literature and submerse ourselves in the written word.
