Imagine having to sit at a desk for multiple hours in a day. Now, imagine being between the ages of 8 and 10 and having to sit at a desk for multiple hours in a day. Doesn't that seem daunting or even impossible? The students within my classroom thrive off of movement, choice and flexibility. That is why flexibility and choice seating within my classroom will make such a difference in the ability for my students to learn and work to their fullest potential. Studies show that when students are given alternative seating choices in the classroom, they are able to increase focus and thus enhance their learning outcomes. With flexible seating, the students within my classroom will be able to learn while using a wobble chair, yoga ball or stool. These options will allow them to be more comfortable, find a responsible working space and get the most out of our work times and classroom activities.
