Because my school does not provide each class with the basic supplies necessary for day-to-day classroom activity, it falls on the students and their parents to provide things like paper towels, tissues and paper for the entire class. Being that a good portion of my class lives in a homeless shelter and are unable to provide such things, we often run out of these supplies. Students waste valuable learning time asking other students to borrow a pencil sharpener so that they can be prepared for the lesson. We need these basic supplies so that we can worry about the more important things in the classroom: like what to write with our freshly sharpened pencils!
