Calculators help enhance students learning by allowing them to investigate and explore mathematical concepts. They also provide a means to foster my students inquisitive nature and capture on a teaching opportunity that might not otherwise be present. My students will utilize these calculators on a daily basis to help them solve mathematical problems. Many of my students struggle in understanding the mathematical concepts and lack the confidence to persevere. These calculators will provide a tool to help my students improve their operational and problem-solving skills, meanwhile providing them necessary confidence to reach their full potential both inside the classroom and in the community. Working in a low-income, inner city school, many of the students are faced with unimaginable challenges that push them often down the wrong road. Many of the students are most impressionable at this age an by providing my students with a sense of confidence in classroom hopefully it can provide them with the self-esteem necessary to make appropriate choices throughout their young lives.
