Learning new mediums in Art is an exploration that is essential for High School students. Thus, students will be designing their own projects using Prismacolor markers on Bienfang Marker Paper. Students can use Crayola markers for their project, but why not introduce professional and high quality supplies to a High school art class? The difference between Crayola and Prismacolor markers is tremendous. The student’s projects will yield a higher quality of color and blending when using Prismacolor Markers versus a project that is made using Crayola Markers. Allowing students to use these Prismacolor Markers is an investment not only to my class, but to the whole Art Department. These will not be used for just one art project; they will be used for multiple assignments. Prismacolor is a fantastic brand that lasts and you are able to buy singles of the specific colors that need replace rather than buying a complete new set. By donating to this project will further students understanding of different techniques such as stippling, cross hatching, color depth, color blending, pointillism and so much more. These materials will also create a sense of responsibility and appreciation because they are using professional grade markers.
