Daisy Elementary ROARS with excitement!! Our school mascot, the Lion Cub, represents our kids well by showing that we all have the power within us to grow into something BIGGER and BETTER. Our GIRLS ONLY running club wants to teach just that...not just how to be a runner, but how to become a self-confident, young woman in today's tough world! We know that physical activity builds strong, healthy bodies. Like lion cubs, young girls need the tools to face challenges in life. Our running club is comprised of twenty 4th and 5th grade girls because, particularly at that age, girls tend to have lower self-esteem than boys of the same age. Fortunately, these girls are at a point where they are still excited about learning and they want to try new things! Being a small group of girls only, also takes away the "Boy" factor and, now, the fear of failure or embarrassment isn't so great.
