The Hokki Stool will be used in times where focusing and participating in class activities becomes nearly impossible for students. By using the Hokki Stool, students are able to move while learning- creating an optimal environment for focusing and participating in activities. This stool will specifically aid students with ADHD or other attention issues. Several of my students tend to "rock" and this stool will allow them to do so while continuing to participate in our activities. The flower feelings kit will be used in an upcoming thematic unit to help our children understand their feelings and how to control them. The community helpers kit will also be used in an upcoming unit to aid in teaching our students about different helpers in their community. Your donation will aid children in my class by having an alternative seating method to promote an optimal learning environment and reducing behavior problems as well as providing the needed manipulative objects to help the children in my class learn needed material in upcoming thematic units. The combination of the Hokki Stool for alternative seating arrangements as well as the new manipulative objects will aid the children in my class in their upcoming units and throughout the year.
