In order to help my students learn the new content better, I ask them to complete different projects which involve writing and applying some important rules. I always encourage them to use their imagination and be creative. With loose leaf, markers, pens and pencils, mathematics will come to life for these students. My idea is once they complete the projects in a creative way, we post them on the wall and hopefully the lessons will stick to their minds. I have many students that come to school hungry. Coming from a community where the average income is $8,000, many of my students' families cannot afford basic necessities. I would like to provide that warm and nourishing environment in school with snacks. Many students stay after school for additional help. After being in school for 8 hours, it is imperative that they receive some sort of snack. They always ask for it and I would like to reward their hard work and love for mathematics.
