While returning from an almost 2 year gap due to remote learning and the COVID-19 pandemic, creating spaces in which children view academics and the brick and mortar schoolhouse in a positive light is essential to academic advancement and acceleration. The demographic of scholars that this program provides services to would benefit from a decompression area within the classroom space to support their emotional regulation and grounding of themselves to return to class to engage in rigorous academics. For scholars classified with ASD, ADHD, ODD and many other intellectual, cognitive and health impairments that impact their school day, a space like this is critical.

About my class
