The gaming club at our school is now in full swing and some of my students are really excited about the figures that game and the adventures that await! Some have even said that they would want to do a session on priming and painting the figures, which would be awesome!\r\n\r\nThese items will allow us to finally have the table space and imagination space to create a world of the mind to take our D&D sessions to the next level. I'll be working with kiddos interested in creating their characters for a upcoming one-shot and see whether there are any potential interested GMs amongst them.\r\n\r\nThe snacks themselves have already been a hit as teenagers ALWAYS want snacks. Some students were surprised that snacks were available for them and that there were some \"legit\" snacks. I assume these cryptic teens are very appreciative everything we received from your generous donations.","fullyFundedDate":1758546568988,"projectUrl":"project/confidence-creativity-through-dungeon/9559594/","projectTitle":"Confidence & Creativity (Through Dungeons & Dragons)","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ng","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9798047_orig.jpg?crop=1599,1599,x1048,y456&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755025297397","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798047"},{"teacherId":9849031,"projectId":8971917,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous support of our classroom project. Thanks to your kindness, we received a variety of incentive rewards that have already begun making a meaningful impact on scholar confidence and motivation.\r\nWe've been using these new resources as part of our \"Engagement through rewards: Boosting class participation and student confidence\"— a classroom-wide initiative that encourages students to set personal academic and behavioral goals each week. When students reach those goals, they get to choose a reward that reflects their effort and commitment. One standout moment was when a student who typically shies away from class discussions volunteered to lead a group activity. Afterward, she proudly selected a reward and said, \"I didn't think I could do it, but now I know I can!\" Moments like that are exactly what this project was meant to create.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were absolutely thrilled. Many of them couldn't believe that these resources were meant just for them. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they explored the reward bin and saw that their hard work would be recognized in such a fun and tangible way.","fullyFundedDate":1742929517429,"projectUrl":"project/engagement-through-rewards-boosting-cl/8971917/","projectTitle":"\"Engagement Through Rewards: Boosting Class Participation and Student Confidence\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valverde","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9849031_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755318473252","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9849031"},{"teacherId":9799082,"projectId":9162342,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your generous contribution to our project, which is already having a meaningful impact on my students. Your support has enabled us to introduce essential resources focused on emotional awareness, social-emotional learning (SEL), and mental health, and I'm excited to share how we've been using them in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were truly excited when they first saw the materials. They immediately recognized that these tools would help them understand their emotions and improve their interactions with one another. We've started integrating emotional regulation tools and SEL curriculum guides into our lessons, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Students are now able to identify and articulate their emotions more clearly, which has helped foster a sense of understanding and empathy among them.\r\n\r\nA key part of our current classroom project is focused on helping students develop Emotional Intelligence. Through group activities, discussions, and role-playing, students are learning to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions. For example, we've used a series of interactive games that encourage students to reflect on how they're feeling and practice responding to different emotional scenarios. These exercises have not only helped students express themselves but have also provided them with strategies for coping with stress, anxiety, and difficult situations.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the tools are promoting positive interactions among students. We've been using materials that focus on communication skills and conflict resolution, and it's already making a big difference in how students work together. They're learning how to collaborate more effectively, resolve conflicts in a respectful manner, and approach problems with a mindset of empathy and teamwork. This is building a more supportive, positive, and collaborative classroom environment where everyone feels heard and respected.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for this project involve continuing to integrate these tools into daily lessons. Students will have opportunities to practice their social skills in more structured group activities, where they can apply what they've learned about emotional regulation, communication, and conflict resolution. We'll also focus on self-reflection, allowing them to set personal goals and track their progress toward becoming more emotionally intelligent and resilient individuals.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. The resources you've helped provide are already making a lasting impact on my students' social-emotional development and mental well-being, and I'm excited to see how they continue to grow with your support.","fullyFundedDate":1727204173136,"projectUrl":"project/safe-space-for-sel/8773010/","projectTitle":"Safe Space for SEL","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. saint paul","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9745948"},{"teacherId":9798047,"projectId":8866446,"letterContent":"Happy holidays and happy new year. With the new tech in the classroom, using technology in the classroom has been so much smoother. Being able to have enough headphones for all students has been a blessing and has made independent study much easier.\r\n\r\nThe students love using the headphones when they have asynchronous self-study work because they aren't distracted by the sounds from other students or from their computers. Additionally, because they are lightweight, I've had no complaints about comfortability. \r\n\r\nI've started having students work more on digital design projects related to my history class (a few examples are attached on the image gallery) and having mice has really made it less frustrating for the students. The outcome of the work has been so much better than before. \r\n\r\nFinally, we have a few students who have been excited about building DnD characters and creating campaigns and stories using the books provided. The snacks are also a great incentive and reward for when students do great work or just need something to fuel their energy when studying. \r\n\r\nThank you for the donations and providing for students in need.","fullyFundedDate":1729191762933,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-student-joy-with-the-play-and/8866446/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Student Joy with the Play and Tech","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ng","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9798047_orig.jpg?crop=1599,1599,x1048,y456&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755025297397","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9798047"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_110702","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":319,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":53,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.7,"schoolId":110702,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Democracy Preparatory Endurance High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Democracy Preparatory Endurance High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-state-department-education/democracy-prep-endurance-high/110702"}
