Despite the crime and violence going on in their community, my students come to school each day to focus on learning and getting their education. With that being said, it is unfortunate that the technology equipment in our classroom is not in good condition, and always causes problems when students attempt to use them. Students are constantly struggling with missing keys on the keyboard or sound issues from the old broken computers in our classroom. This results in lots of wasted time and frustration when they could be getting their instruction from the lessons they are supposed to get online daily. iPad tablets will allow students to have access to tons of online resources to meet their needs in the classroom. Our classroom library books are geared towards students who are on grade level, so students who are behind do not have many books to choose from. New books will allow the struggling students to have a bigger selection when visiting the classroom library during reading stations each day.
