The Kestrel (weather meter) and test tubes are science tools that will provide more in-depth learning activities for my students as we engage in learning science by doing science, and help make up for learning loss during online school. We are so fortunate to have the amazing Great Salt Lake Ecosystem in our very own backyard, and we can use these items to measure, analyze and recreate this amazing ecosystem as we strive to understand stability and change in ecosystems, as well as weather patterns and climate. By donating these items to our classroom you will help students engage in science and find that science is fun - YAY! Students can engage in science from home by recording observations and then analyzing and comparing the data to instruments, such as the Kestrel during online instruction. This real-world connection to the weather phenomenon is interesting and leads students to a deeper understanding of the world around them. This is a great way to connect at home learning to the science standards!
