Hurricane Ida devastated our region and disrupted student learning at our school for over a month. This disruption is especially difficult for students who are engaged in advanced placement courses like mine. My course is taught over just one semester. This means that my first semester students will have to deal with a disrupted and extended semester. Worse still, my second-semester students will have a much shorter window in which to learn the entire course since the semester will start late, but the exam will proceed on the same prescribed date. Changes to the schedule for both semesters due to Hurricane Ida's impact pose unusual and particularly difficult challenges for my students whether they take my course in the Fall or Spring semester. Providing students with a study prep book could be just the help these young scholars need in rising to the challenge of the AP exam.
