Currently, we don't have a working piece of technology in our room. While we provide many hands-on experiences involving learning, technology (which is so much a part of our world and future) is missing from our learning environment. Many of my students tell me about the alphabet apps on their parents' phones at home. My students' parents are work-driven, and technology is often the only exposure my students have to learning while at home. An iPad will give my students that comfort of learning with technology. One new app I wanted to try with my students was a coding app which I recently discovered at a professional development workshop, which teaches students computer coding in a fun way. I think an iPad will open up so many opportunities for learning in the classroom that our tried and true, hands-on materials and books can't provide.
