The donations to this project will provide my students with fundamental accessories to establish healthy habits when developing ideal instrument positioning and playing posture. These two skills will create efficiency as they learn to play the violin and guitar. The beginning and second-year music classes establish the foundation for all future instrument playing. Skills taught regarding posture and instrument positioning need to be carefully presented and reinforced in order to avoid remedial instruction. We cannot achieve optimal posture and instrument positioning without a violin shoulder rest and guitar footstool. Additionally, these accessories will avoid the hardship of developing music related injuries in their future careers as professional or amateur musicians.
