As a teacher in a low-income school, my kindergarten students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Our school site is 93% Hispanic, and over half of my students are EL learners. "A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning." ~Brad Henry. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth. My goal is to inspire a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
