One of the biggest uses for the laptop is to allow some of my students who have mastered certain areas of math to move on to more difficult or 3rd grade math. There have been times where a student finishes her Math work fairly quickly and this is the kind of situation where she should have an opportunity to get on a computer to challenge herself so that she can advance further in math. I moved to a new school this year and I inherited a classroom that had almost no technology in it. They will also use it to read online books on sites such as RAZ kids and visit other academic sites.
