I teach a Language Arts class in an impoverished school district in Southwestern Pennsylvania. I receive no budget for my students and often have to buy supplies with my own money. My students would love the opportunity to use computers to publish their writing. We cover all genres of writing (Narrative, Persuasive, Informational, Descriptive). Students in the 21st century need to learn keyboarding, Microsoft word, and overall technological skills in order to be successful professionally. They will get hands-on experiences, that they normally would not have. We could finally bring our learning up to date with the 21st century.
