Our school recently received 49 triangular, ergonomic desks that were donated with the help of a student's parent. The materials we are requesting will help enhance the desks to give students a more functional work space. By increasing the height of the desks with risers and adding resistance bands to allow for a foot rest, we can provide an engaging work space that also allows for optimal body mechanics. Giving students the ability to release energy and remain active during the learning process helps increase focus, performance, and boost creativity. We have seen the negative effects of sedentary behaviors in our society. These desks create a more active opportunity in the classroom. The Bouncy Bands will help seated students remain active and give them the energy release without distracting peers. Our focus continues to be on improving the whole child.
