I work at a school with many students who struggle to achieve in all areas. These challenges come from the many languages spoken at my school and the many challenges that arise from living as a refugee or living in general poverty. Because of the unique nature of my school, our students need a variety of instructional supports. Classroom teachers support all students at their different levels. I work as a specialist, targeting students at different achievement levels. I work both with some of the lower achieving students and some of the higher achieving students at the school. I would like to purchase a science kit and space measurement lab because these kits include experiments and supplies to better teach the Utah Core Standards to 5th and 6th graders in science. These materials will help support my students by providing them with a strong science and math program. A strong program will help them, and the students around them, better understand these concepts and will help them achieve great things!
