These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them the chance to practice reading books that they find interesting. Hurricane Harvey has destroyed our public city library and all of our classroom libraries. Children become better more proficient readers by reading. My students will use these books as part of our Daily 5 activities, and during silent reading time Having books to read in the classroom will help improve their fluency and reading comprehension. Most of my students lost everything in Hurricane Harvey. If they had books at home, they are gone. The city public library is closed for the unforeseeable future. My personal classroom library was destroyed. Please help my students have access to books to become better readers!
