My students are pushing beyond their disabilities by learning to use the best technology for math good calculators and rulers. We must be exact! No room for error!! All my students come from families struggling for their basic needs--food, shelter, and clothing. In addition, my students must have expensive hearing aids (most hearing aids are in the range of $3,000 to $4.000, not counting hearing aid batteries, or surgeries). Thankfully, many are able to purchase their own hearing aids with the help of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Then their are their glasses. Asking the families to purchase these necessary calculators and rulers is one more expense they just can't afford. Helping them with these "little things" will mean big opportunities for them. The calculators and rulers are required technologies for them to succeed with algebra and geometry. Thank you in advance for your contributions.
