Students will be using engineering skills to build and test their roller coasters along the way. They will be evaluating their designs and redesigning parts of the roller coaster for even more speed and complexity as they send their marbles for an exciting ride. It's a fun way to show what they know about speed, force, and motion. Roller Coasters give students a hands-on engineering and design challenge. Allowing the students to take risks and redesign helps them understand that there are many times when we have to rethink or think outside of the box to solve a problem. They will use cardstock to build the tracks of the roller coaster. The foam board will give it a solid base and the tape and glue to hold the whole project together.
