We need a printing press, ink and accessories that will be used by the entire school to create posters, shirts and art prints. If our school were to receive this printing press and the accompanying supplies, it would be used by the entire student body for many years to come. Each grade level will not only learn the basics of printmaking, but also how the projects relate to multiple elements of art and principals of design. These lessons will explore design, repetition, pattern, line, form, color and much more. Students will create posters, shirts and art prints utilizing the printing press. Simply showing students slides of how the printmaking process works or using less effective printing techniques has it's limitations. If students are able to actually create prints on a real press, this would convey these lessons in a far more effective way. Students will always have fun, learn, build self-confidence and create incredible art when they are provided with the proper resources to do so!
