Hi! I'm Ms. Butler and I'm a mathematics educator and coach at JHS 189 in Queens, NY. Middle school is where I really started to build my passion of math and decided I wanted to be able to help young adults find their love of problem solving and critical thinking. My students at 189 come from all parts of the world and show a variation of interests in math problems. Our school consists of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students taking courses from pre-algebra to computer science. My goal as an educator for not only myself, but other educators within our school building to reach all students, is to provide high quality instruction, bring instructional technology into our classrooms, and create a passion for mathematics of their own. I believe that with your generosity in funding the various projects moving forward, I can exceed my ambitions as a math educator and bring high level instruction to all students.
