My goal is to make my classroom my students' home away from home. Our current classroom carpet is old and falling apart. The edges of the carpet have been pulled and walked on so much. Every time we sit down for carpet time, I have to remind a student not to pull on the carpet strands. It is covered in stains, and it does not have specific spaces for each student. My students argue over where to sit because they do not have their own space. This new carpet would give each student their own square so they would know where to sit, and it would be much more clean and comfortable to cultivate a positive learning environment.
