I am currently teaching students in the classroom and at home concurrently. With a small laptop screen, the videos of students at home are very small. Also, I am using my laptop for the lesson (like shared notes that we are learning and discussing that day) and for classroom tasks (like taking attendance, checking work submitted to Blackboard, etc). The second monitor will allow me to bring up the videos of students learning from home so that we can clearly see them when we are in the classroom. It will allow me to hold them more accountable for their choices as remote learners, which will help them to be more focused during class time. It will also allow us to create more a classroom community because my students in the room will be able to see the videos of their remote classmates as they participate, instead of only hear their voices while only I see the videos. Help me make this a reality in our classroom and enhance our second semester of teaching and learning!
