As an Occupational Therapist, it is my responsibility to identify student's struggles and provide resources necessary to increase their potential in the academic environment. My students would greatly benefit from the implementation of therabands (large resistive rubber bands) placed on the legs of their chairs to increase focus, attention and avoid disruptive fidgeting behaviors in the classroom. Imagine having 3 cups of coffee and then being told you need to sit still in a chair for the next hour - this is how my students feel all the time. They are constantly getting reprimanded for fidgeting and getting out of their seats when their teacher is trying to give a lesson. This not only effects their ability to learn, but their self-esteem as well. Your donation to this project will not only grant my students the opportunity to be more focused and successful with their schoolwork, but will also improve their self-esteem as well. Thank you in advance for your consideration to help my very special students!!
