If this project is funded, I will be dedicating a corner of the classroom to build a small art reading nook for my students. Currently, we have a designated shelf on top of our supply area, but it often goes unnoticed. An area that clearly focuses on the art books and reading materials for students to use when they complete projects early will be an exciting development in the classroom, as they often ask me if there is anything they can read. Growing the collection with new art books and Scholastic Art magazine though is important. The overall goal will be to continue to create a collection of reading materials that is inclusive, engaging, wide-ranging, and introduces the students to information they have never accessed before!
