At FLN we are currently working on supporting the many social and emotional needs of our 200 3rd and 4th graders. We have been teaching mindfulness and meditation as ways to decompress and re-focus and are working towards rewarding good behavior while building problem solving. We would like to provide each classroom an MP3 player with a pre-recorded meditation for students to listen to when they need a break. The Lego sets would be used as a reward for students who are doing well, as well as an opportunity for students to work together to build a new creation in a fun and supervised way.
