There are a total of 54 students in my third grade Chinese dual language immersion program, divided into two classes of 27 students each. Everyday, each class of students only has half a day with me to learn Chinese and all core subjects - math, science and social studies - in the Chinese language. The projects students do are often broken down into smaller segments because of the lack of class time. There is a real need for each of the 54 students to have their individual space to store their unfinished work, a place in which they feel safe to leave their work, and for which they feel responsible for maintaining it. That's the place where they can easily retrieve their unfinished work and continue with it till completion.
A literature organizer with 32 compartments is the perfect solution to finding adequate storage space for my students. These 32 compartments, together with my current organizer of 24 compartments, will be enough to provide each student with his/her individual space. With each student having his/her own storage unit, respective work can easily be retrieved, and students can be charged with the responsibility to keep their unit neat and accessible.
