Last weekend I attended a conference for business teachers and learned about some great cooperative learning strategies. I left excited and filled with new ideas to bring to my classroom. Not only do I want to incorporate these strategies but I want to do some research and find even more ideas to incorporate in my classroom. The books I am requesting will help me to learn about more cooperative learning strategies. The supplies will be used by the students as they are using the cooperative learning structures in the classroom. We can foster a sense of teamwork and learn from each other by using a variety of the cooperative learning structures I will utilize. Structures will be used to help with communication, encouragement, teaching others and learning from classmates, and review of concepts in each of the classes I teach. Spencer Kagan is an expert in cooperative learning. Therefore, I have requested a few of his books, so that I can research these strategies further and implement them in my classroom. Students are going to be working in groups, I am requesting classroom supplies such as white boards, markers, white board erasers, and other items to have available for each group. Each team will have their own set of supplies so that they can engage with each other and come up with a group response.
