The computers will allow my students to consistently work with technology. Students will learn how to research, use programs, type and be exposed to global concepts through their interaction on the computer. It will allow them to engage with different texts and cultures. Thereby, resulting in meaningful learning and them increasing their knowledge through multiple points of interaction. There is an immediate need for my students to attain access to technology. This need is based on the fact that my students started their education hearing about thirty million less words than their affluent peers. This has led to my students having a lack of vocabulary knowledge. A computer may seem basic to most people but it is one of the most important product/service that would impact their Educational Growth and lead them to success. It allows them to select from a variety of different texts which gives them exposure to new vocabulary and increases their Reading Comprehension.
