These materials will be used in my classroom to provide students with hands-on experiences to explore the properties of magnets and to experiment with forces and motion. My students have had very few experiences on which to base any sort of scientific reasoning, so I try to provide them with as many experiences as I can while they are in my care. The track can be used for many years and will also be available to other teachers in my school who are interested in using it. In addition, this type of hands-on exploration removes language barriers and provides a positive school experience to students who may not otherwise feel that they are successful in an educational setting due to language or poverty issues.
