The books that you help fund for my classroom library will have an impact beyond measure. Students will be able to read and discover books with topics based on race, culture, ethnicity, special needs, and etc. Students that are the minority in the class will finally be able to choose from several books with characters that look like them, speak like them, or hold the same traditions. These books will facilitate much-needed discussions that will cultivate acceptance, kindness, and understanding in the classroom and beyond. Each book will be a stepping stone to a world where everyone is valued, differences are celebrated, and understanding is complete. I am truly excited about the opportunities that will come out of this project and the growth that both my students and I will experience.
