The ukulele is the perfect instrument to help upper elementary students sing melodies while strumming chords simultaneously. Strumming with the right hand while fingering chords with the left hand challenges the brain. Students will have the opportunity to work in pairs. They will peer teach one another, evaluating sound, rhythm and fingering while learning to verbally give instruction to one another. The ukulele will undoubtedly inspire a positive attitude that will follow the student throughout the day. What better gift can we give our students then the skills to make music together, sing in harmony, smile laugh and work side by side. The ukulele will promote lifelong learners and lovers of music. Give to my classroom by January 31, 2017 and your donation will be doubled thanks to DonorsChoose.org. Just enter the code LIFTOFF during checkout and you'll be matched dollar for dollar (up to $50).
