My students come from a town of deserted jobs and a place where violence, gangs, and drugs seem to be the most popular way of life. Our school is like a safe haven for most of the students. They have an amazing ability to express their minds using art as an outlet. They are not afraid to be serious or funny in front of a class. They are all around amazing kids that overcome adversity everyday. And our school allows students to think about a future that involves college. With this hope of college comes an absolute fearlessness to be creative and expressive in what they see everyday.

About my class
