We use calculators on a daily basis in our lives and in my classroom. The calculators we currently use in the classroom are outdated and prevent my students from using all of the functions they have to offer. Updated technology will give my students the opportunity to have a authentic understanding of using math in the real world. Teaching students how math relates to the real world is my main goal. We take our students on field trip throughout our city to allow them to make these real world connections. It great the see their faces when they can make a mathematical connection to a place they've past by a hundred times before.
