As students mature musically, there comes a time when they must acquire equipment and materials that will achieve a higher level of musicianship. The mouthpieces listed in our project will allow our students to perform specifically on the saxophone and clarinet with the ability to achieve better tones and better intonation. Furthermore, offering all students the opportunity to perform using the same equipment will allow the students a better chance of performing performance fundamentals on a advanced level. This means matching tone qualities and pitch tendencies are more uniformly attainable. With these goals achieved, the overall sonority of the clarinet and saxophone sections are greatly improved, which also has a direct effect on the sound of the overall group as a whole.
