Dash robots can introduce students, even four year olds, to the world of coding and robotics. Coding helps students learn to problem solve, understand how things around them work, and gives them the power to create and succeed in a digital world. These robots have students learning while playing, allowing students to gain confidence and knowledge in a safe environment. As my students have started experimenting with Dash robots, their imaginations have run wild, while their brains are being challenged. Conversations are full of excitement, while also trying to figure things out. How do I make it go backwards? How can I change the lights? The sounds? I want it to go down the hall… how do I do that? Dash works with iPads, which we already have in our room. There are multiple free apps that can be used, working through a progression that gets harder as they go, allowing for differentiation and growth.
