I am a Special Education English teacher at a high school in Camden, New Jersey. My students will be reading “A Lesson Before Dying” by Ernest Gaines, a required reading for English 2. In order for them to do this project we are in need of fifteen novels (“A Lesson Before Dying”) to make this project go forward. To enhance this project I will be teaching across the curriculum by incorporating art, music, and technology. They will create/design their very own book cover. In addition to creating their own book cover they will be writing their own summary of the book on the back of the cover. The students will be required to find an appropriate soundtrack on YouTube to culminate the ending of the book. We are very anxious to get these projects in motion.
