Everyday students come in and have to sit in a desk for 2 hours in my classroom. I'd like to create a reading/work corner where I remove 6 desks and replace them with chairs and pillows to make a more comfortable learning environment. Students go from class to class sitting in desks with uncomfortable chairs. Who wouldn't want a break from the norm and be comfortable. Reading/Work corners are a great tool to get students motivated and excited to be in a classroom for 2 hours. By providing students an alternative to the norm of seating will help get students excited for coming to Language Arts/Social Studies. I want to add to my learning environment by providing students with something out of the norm in Middle School.
