Since our class has varied academic needs, having a classroom iPad would be helpful to allow students to practice necessary skills at their individual levels through the vast number of apps available. Other apps allow me to personalize instruction; one of my favorite apps that I have used in the past for this purpose is Plickers. Check it out, it's pretty amazing!! Using the app, I can scan students' answers after they hold up a card indicating their answer. It graphs their results in real time, and I can immediately adjust my instruction based on this information. I especially like to use this during reading to check their comprehension of stories, but it can be used in all subject areas! We also share pictures and summaries of our day with our families through social media. Currently, I use my cell phone for this, but I want the students to be more actively involved in the process. I would like students to be able to classroom photographers using an iPad, as well as take responsibility of sharing (with supervision - of course!) about our day. This would allow us to connect with the parents in the classroom more, and families would have a better understanding about what we are doing every day at school. The uses for classroom iPad are innumerable - and we'd greatly appreciate having one to use as an educational tool! Thank you in advance for your support!
