All of my students are struggling with reading and writing due to their cognitive disabilities. They struggle daily with self confidence issues due to their low reading and writing abilities. However, they are a very expressive group of kids, they LOVE expressing themselves through artistic channels, such as drawing and coloring. I want them to start a monthly ART initiate to give my kids the opportunity to express and communicate their feelings, thoughts, and opinions freely without the limitations of their disabilities. These art supplies are going to help me kickstart this initiative. When my kids are creating art, their true inner self comes out and that's when I see their confidence shine through.
