My classroom is set up in a small, rural area. Over 50% of the students in my school are on free or reduced lunch. I try to present learning to these students in a way that is fun and engaging. Many of my students are coming to school without their basic needs being met. This makes it hard for them to concentrate on what they are learning in school. Oftentimes they are more focused on what food is at home or if they have heat. I like to make our classroom learning a hands on time for these kids. The more interactive I can make it, the more engaged they will be.
