The achievement gap continues to grow and I am compelled to do my part as a teacher to help close it. My students may lack resources at home. However, it is my job to provide them with the necessary tools such as a fluency card bank, write and wipe pockets and leveled books, while they are school to be life long learners. I want to help them develop a growth mindset so that they are able to apply that thinking to real life experiences. My students struggle with reading and writing. Those core subjects are essential for every subject area. I would like to help them strengthen the skills they need to be able to excel across the board. Reading/writing is essential!
