Using traditional drums, instead of the dollar store buckets I already have, will allow my students to experience the feel of traditional drums which will open the door to discussions about the history, culture, and evolution of drums from country to country. Problems in the classroom often come from a lack of student engagement. By putting drums in the hands of young learners, you are not only giving my students the opportunity to improve their rhythmic literacy and drumming technique, but you are giving them an engaging outlet in which to do so. In donating to this project, you will helping to give my kids a true gift. They will love experiencing different types of drums.
