My students need a tablet to enable them to draw and write their math assignments. They will use technology like Desmos to graph on the tablet and use virtual manipulatives like integer tiles or probability spinners to promote conceptual understanding of the math concepts. My students will use Earth Science apps to gain a deeper understanding of concepts like plate tectonics and convection inside the earth. They will create different video projects in order for them to apply their creative and critical thinking skill when they demonstrate their understanding about concepts like earthquakes and volcanoes. I am fortunate to teach a group of passionate young minds that are full of potential. However, several of them are being presented with challenges in life and are in need of extra support and encouragement. They are in need of engaging and thought-provoking activities. I am hoping that with the added technology in the classroom, I will be able to motivate students further, build their confidence, and increase their learning.
